Worked: (newest version of Blender that worked as expected)

Short description of error
If the top input nodegroup is not geometry, even if there are other geometry types it doesn't connect.
(you might say, just make the top socket a geometry, but no, the blender convection was to put menus in-between the input and output geometry so if we want are nodes to have a glouble option in that spot it won't connect).

this was probably just overlooked. maybe make it look for first of geometry type if there is one.
(may i suggest also making it use same name if possible, but i know this might be out of scope from this report)

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  • go to GN workspace
  • make a node group
  • add a menu input to that group
  • try to drop it on top of noodle
