New object problem #64924

System Information
Operating system: Windows 10
Graphics card: AMD thing

Blender Version
Broken: (example: 2.80, edbf15d3c0, master, 2018-11-28, as found on the splash screen)
Worked: (always)

When creating a new object, the options that pop up in the bottom left corner no longer work.

I reverted to the factory settings on startup as you do with a new version, re-enabled my usual addons (Machin3, FastCarve, Animation nodes, F2, Loop Tools) and happily started to create a new object. To my surprise I could not change a single option. Pressing F9 yielded the same result. Not that much of a problem because you can change the options after the fact but it is slightly irritating.

Thank you for all your hard work! 2.8 is awesome!

Cannot reproduce here.
Check with today's build from https://builder.blender.org/download/.
If you still get the problem, try to disable your addons. Maybe they create the problem.
And please specify which version you test.

George, I downloaded the newest version literally half an hour ago. In fact, I downloaded it twice to make sure that it wasn't just some artefact produced by Windows 10 (it does that, Windows 10 is a little ill...). Version number. Sorry, I was under the impression that it picks it up automatically... It is: 2019-05-2019-20 22 03 Hash: e787700393.
However, I saved the file, reopened it and the problem is gone. When I create a new file, it is back again but ONLY with the plane object. Weird... Save and reopen seems to fix it. I disabled all addons, it makes no difference.
I have no idea what causes it. I have used Blender for close to 15 years and I have never seen it before. If it persists, I'll let you know.
Thank you!

Just checked, it should work if you open from inside blender (Help->Report a Bug).

Checked also plane. No matter what I try, new object options, always work here with Windows 10 amd RX470.

Okay, thank you, I'll do that in future. About the weird glitch: it doesn't matter, it's easy to work around and nothing else is broken. One of these days it'll get solved, I'm sure. Thanks for looking into it.

Yay! Solved it! I investigated further and I checked every single setting in the preferences. I then noticed that "Global undo" was unchecked. I enabled it, restarted Blender and everything works perfect now. I don't know why that has an effect on the object settings and I am 100% sure I didn't touch it ... I never do. Somebody might want to look into it when they have a spare 5 minutes. It's a little strange but not a life-threatening situation. I guess you can cross this "bug" off the list.
Thank you for you help!
