Texture mismatch in solid mode with color as texture selected #75337

Operating system: Windows-10-10.0.18362-SP0 64 Bits
Graphics card: GeForce RTX 2080 Ti/PCIe/SSE2 NVIDIA Corporation 4.5.0 NVIDIA 442.19

Blender Version
Broken: version: 2.83 (sub 11), branch: master, commit date: 2020-04-03 00:24, hash: 6f4dbb661f
Worked: c26f470cfe (not bisected, just older build I have laying around)

Short description of error
Scene with huge amount of textures and materials. In my case apartment scene size, with more than 100 diffuse textures{F8445641}. Textures are mismatched between material and it's texture in solid mode with texture as color selected. While isolating object texture is display correctly, when exiting isolated mode, texture are mismatched again. Same thing can be reproduced while selecting and hiding everyfing but selected (shift+s).
Scene renders correctly. Material preview mode also works OK.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
textures_mismatch.blend

  • Open file
  • Select some object (for example DSC04238)

Press {key /} to switch to local view

Image texture will change

To really be able to reproduce this issue, we would need an example .blend file where this happens.

my apologise. I've found out that my scenes are working in other PC as expected. After reinstalling windows, which was 4 years old, everything is working OK. I can't reproduce this error again. So it's seems to be windows error, not Blender.

Hello again,
actually I can reproduce error. I have imported as images planes 174 different pictures. In Blender 2.8 I can see properly matched textures while in blender 2.83 they are mismatched.
In both material preview and render is OK.
