X-Ray view becomes distorted while editing vertex weights #75663

Worked: (newest version of Blender that worked as expected)

Short description of error
I'm currently editing a mesh's vertex weights. If I have "Vertex Weight Groups" enabled in Overlays, switching my view to Wireframe mode with X-Ray enabled causes a pixelated distortion (this does not happen in 2.82).

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

Could you post a screenshot ? this seems system dependent, so not everyone can redo it.
Also, tell us if it is reported in these tasks or the related ones you'd find under "mentioned in" or "mentioned here"

Hi, thanks for the reply. I checked the other reports, and it's something completely unrelated; in only happens when Vertex Group Weights is enabled, or while in weight paint mode. I've attached a screenshot for reference. To reproduce the error:

  1. Add a mesh
  2. Create a vertex group, and in weight paint or edit mode with weights displayed, assign some vertices to it.
  3. Enable X-Ray view.
