System Information
Operating system: Windows 10 Pro ver. 1909 OS Bld. 18363.778
Graphics card: nvidia GTX 1080

Blender Version
Broken: Blender 2.82 (sub 7)
Build: 2020-03-12 15:41:08 Windows Release
Worked: It worked until I uninstalled Blender 2.69

Short description of error

I installed Blender 2.82a and immediately started up. I noticed it didn't overwrite the prior Blender 2.69. I shut down Blender 2.82 and uninstalled 2.69. Went to start Blender 2.82 and it crashed immediately and would not start even after repairing and reinstalling several times.

Please remove the duplicate comment image.png

Also, retry after

  • updating GPU drivers
  • moving this folder elsewhere C:\Users\Ang\AppData\Roaming\Blender Foundation\

There is currently an issue with the Intel UHD 360 graphics card that is causing a crash on startup.

Since you also have a GTX 1080 graphics card you can go in the NVIDIA control panel and configure Blender to always use the NVIDIA graphics card.

All GPU drivers are kept updated. As per Brecht...I understand that Intel(R) UHD Graphics 630 card is causing the crash on Blender 2.82a on startup. I never had that issue with prior Blender versions. I have changed over to the Nvidia Geforce GTX 1080 and Blender 2.82a is now up and seems to be responding. Thank you all for the timely response. Thank you also for an outstanding piece of software and all the work that goes into it.

Ankit, I misunderstood your comment regarding GPU drivers until after I realized it was a link. Thank you, I will look into this since my on-board display OEM driver is 26.20.100.7263 and that's the latest (20 Nov 2019) for my system from Dell and according to my Device Manager.
