System Information
Operating system: Windows-10-10.0.19041-SP0 64 Bits
Graphics card: GeForce GTX 1080 Ti/PCIe/SSE2 NVIDIA Corporation 4.5.0 NVIDIA 461.40
2x GTX 1070 8GB VRAM

Blender Version
Broken: version: 2.93.0 Alpha, branch: master, commit date: 2021-02-04 00:22, hash: d30320b4f5
2.91/2/3 will freeze.
Worked: n.a.

Short description of error
The scene contains one 8K texture sequence for baking and can't be shared due to an NDA.
When trying to viewport render with Cycles with all activated cards Blender will freeze or crash.
When trying to viewport render with Cycles with GTX 1080Ti and 1x GTX 1070 Blender will freeze or crash.
When viewport rendering with one GTX 1070 is will report a CUDA error: Illegal address in cuCtxSynchronize() (device_cuda_impl.cpp:2043)
Viewport rendering with GTX 1080Ti only works.
Viewport rendering with RTX 2070 Super 8GB works.
F12 rendering works.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

Can you check if the following setting is enabled in Windows settings? If it is, turn it Off, and try blender again.

It's turned on on all my computers. Will check.

This was the issue. But can you fix it? Or do we have to keep this option turned off?

@brecht , @pmoursnv This is the 5th time such a configuration has popped up. The other 4 being #85317, #84877, #78584, and #78377. It looks like Multi-GPU CUDA/Optix setups fail when using this "Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling" setting in newer builds of Windows 10. But it's not clear if the problem is blender, the driver, or Windows.

@Renderbicks Can you confirm again that a F12 render with both GPUs enabled AND Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling turned ON worked fine for you? Basically, is this just a problem with Viewport rendering for you?
