Hi, thanks for the report. Please try again with factory default settings: File -> Defaults -> Load Factory settings

Also provide the crash logs if crash happens with factory settings: https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/latest/troubleshooting/crash.html#windows

I tried a factory reset, but the issue repeats again. I attached a crash log here.

Hi, thanks for the file. Do you use multi monitor setup?

I think this is similar to: #91149 (Blender crashes on opening file explorer window (Open, Save as, Import, Export))

Yes I have multiple monitors.

Screenshot 2021-09-07 175526.png

1: 4K monitor, scaled at 150% in portrait at 2160 x 3840
2: QHD scaled at 125% in 2560 x 1440 (main display)
3: 4K scaled at 200% in 3840 x 2160

I switched around the main display to be #3 then back to #2, but then I scaled #2 to 150% instead of 125%

I was able to open file explorer in Blender without it crashing in full screen after switching the scaling from 125%

I was also able to open file explorer with the #3 monitor as my main display.

I changed the #2 monitor back to 125% and set it back to my main display. I tried repeating the crash but it now no longer occurs.

I am uncertain of the exact conditions that I had initially. But after making some adjustments to the monitor layout in display settings, either by a few pixels or from the display scale, was what fixed the issue.

I am uncertain of the exact conditions that I had initially... But after making some adjustments to the monitor layout in display settings was what fixed the issue.

Hi, thanks for checking. Also, check again with recent 3.0.0 build: https://builder.blender.org/download/daily

I will merge this report into #91149 since both are almost identical. Feel free to comment there if crash happens again on 2.93.4
