{F12791419}System Information
Operating system: Win10
Graphics card: Nvidia Geforce RTX 2070

Blender Version
Broken: 3.0.0, 2021-12-02, master, f1cca3055776{F12791423}
Worked: none, I am new with blender and this is my first version, but I have seen other people complain about the bug too (like Blender Guru on YT, for example)

When I attempt to use proportional editing (on smooth) to move some verteces, other verteces behind the selected one are being moved as well. They are on the opposite side of the mesh and the mesh is acting as if it's in wireframe while it is not. It's in solid. I can only move multiple if I manually shift select each one.

Select a vertex, turn on proportional editing, be sure to only catch the middle of the mesh in the circle, move the vertex, check the mesh and you will see that everything through that area was also moved as if the mesh was in wireframe.

Thanks for the report. Other vertices will only move if Projected from View is enabled in Proportional Editing popup.
Can you check if disabling that option works for you?

I am not sure if this is a bug even if disabling that option fixes movement of verts.

I think this is similar to #94673 - vertices on the other side are obstructed by donut object, but it is not being edited, therefore proportional editing effect will get projected through it. As @PratikPB2123 said, disabling this will resolve this issue.

This behavior is consistent in many previous versions and I don't see attempt to consider obstructing objects anywhere in code, so this is not a bug as far as I can see.

Hi, my issue is not the same as this one. I have proportional Editing turned off as you can see in the video I posted on my report. My bug only appears when you are looking at the object from below the X & Y axis (otherwise it's completely fine), please watch my video. @iss @PratikPB2123
