Changed status from 'Needs Triage' to: 'Needs User Info'
This is along the lines of #97124 (Regression: Area lights. Size manipulators lost (WIN+NVidia))
I would assume this is also fixed by
9dadd8bdb1
@1029910278 : can you recheck this in a fresh 3.2 build from https://builder.blender.org/download/daily/?
no, it is still not working. This is the latest 3.2 version
the resize gizmo is working, but the target gizmo is broken

It is then probably caused by
0cb5eae9d0
.If confirmed, it would also be a regression, so high prio.
@rjg , @Vyach : do you also have this issue?

@lichtwerk Yes, I can confirm this is still an issue. Tested with

I'm unable to redo this error With AMD-GPU+Linux. This seems similar to #97124 since it's also an issue with NVidia+Windows, however this bug is happening without without anything obscuring the gizmos (no overlapping gizmos in this case), which is strange.

Checked with Jeroen, he can try to have a look at this :)

Issue seems related to intersection even the mouse cursor doesn't change. Might be a workaround for AMD that depends on. Will allocate time this week to look at it in more depth.
Unable to reproduce on Linux/NVIDIA, so need to spend time building a platform
I have made this experiment, and I hope this might help solving the problem.
Seems that Light>Size overlay is the cause of the issue.
2022-05-09 22-19-49.mp4
For NVidia/Windows the depth test=false is skipped.
this introduces the limitation that the user can use the light gizmo by interacting with the area rectangle (size gizmo), but not the circular one. When disabling this part of code the behavior is reversed.
I don't have been able to track down the root cause.
