System Information
Operating system: Windows 10
Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-10210U CPU @ 1.60GHz 2.11 GHz
Installed RAM: 16,0 GB (15,8 GB usable)

Graphics card: Onboard graphics, Intel(R) UHD Graphics

Blender Version

          Blender 3 and above

Broken: This problem occurs for me in all versions 3 and above so far
Worked: Works on all versions below 3

Short description of error

When activating the rotation tool in the toolbar and you want to rotate an object on either X,Y or Z axis, the trackball style rotation is activated and I am unable to rotate on an axis only. This has only started happening since V3 and above. All versions below 3 work just fine. If I activate the Transform tool, to rotate the object, all rotation on axes work.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
I have attached a .blend file that does not work for me. I have also attached a jpg highlighting the issue. Please can you point me in the right direction to fix. Regards Rex...

Hi, thanks for the report. Same issue was also reported in #97483 (Rotation tool only allows trackball style rotation)
Can you test again in latest 3.2beta build?: https://builder.blender.org/download/daily

Hi, can you upload system info file: {nav Help > Save System Info}

Also update your GPU driver and see if that makes any difference: https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/dev/troubleshooting/gpu/windows/intel.html

   Just checked, I have the latest "Intel(R) UHD Graphics" GPU driver.

Hi, latest driver version is 30.0.101.1660
Did you try to upgrade them from intel's website?: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/products/80939/graphics.html
