This pull request upgrades Git submodule Web Assets to v2, resolves post-upgrade issues, and makes the necessary basic project-specific changes (v2.1.0-alpha).

This alpha release is being rolled out early to accelerate and support upcoming content and UI changes in the project. More changes and testing are needed for later.
