OK but Unfortunately the behaviour still differs from 3.5. You can see that the API is automatically marking edges as sharp in the pictures posted previously (3.6 and 4.1) but here in screenshot…

I haven't done a thorough evaluation but a quick check in Blender 4.1 alpha, things look quite nice! Blender 3.6 shown by comparison
