Currently, this is just used to print the 'name' of the active F-Curve in a panel for verification purposes. This is the recommended way of getting this info.
These operators - ANIM_OT_keyingset_add_new() and ANIM_OT_keyingset_add_destination() - are designed for use from PyAPI or through some other means, and as such, have not been assigned any hotkeys.
They should only be used when all the relevant settings can be supplied to them, which in ideal circumstances would be through some script used by a rigger to define all the necessary Keying Sets for their rig for example.
Whether we will be building many of the utilities for the PyAPI like this remains to be seen.
Note: the second one doesn't work yet, as there are problems with accessing certain operator props.
* Image painting back. 2d paint, 3d paint and projection, undo,
pressure, repeating paint operations, etc should all work.
Drawing cursor needs a bit of work, only gets shown when enabling
texture paint mode now.
* Move sculpt, image paint, and vertex/weight paint into a single
sculpt_paint module. Doesn't make much difference now, but nice
to have it together for better integration and consistency in
the future.
- Mesh Rip back (Vkey). For those who keep wondering how
it works: just put mouse cursor somewhere close to the
selection, press V and mouse mouse away from it. Feels
like real rip!
- Made extrude sorta work, no menu/options yet though.
But it does transform!
- Added an short event->mval[2] with region coords,
easier coding for the guys :)
- Fill operator standard delivers 'beauty' now
them nicely repeatable, and splitting up the big edit_text
operator into individual operator so it's all nicely scriptable,
documented, configurable, etc..
* Insert Text, Line Break, Insert Lorem
* Toggle Case, Set Case, Toggle Style, Set Style, Set Material
* Copy Text, Cut Text, Paste Text, Paste File, Paste Buffer
* Move, Move Select, Delete
* Change Spacing, Change Character
Notes
* Text (datablock) to Object doesn't work yet, will need to
implement text editor context for that.
* Some shortcut keys don't work because screen/wm overrides them,
ctrl+x, ctrl+left/right. That override goes top down which works
well for some cases, but here we need to override in the other
direction.
* There's no unicode support in RNA, or the user interface code
for that matter, but text strings can contain these characters.
At the moment it stores a UTF-8 string in char arrays, which is
supposed to be nicely compatible with ascii. Seems reasonable to
add support for UTF-8 in the interface code, python bindings, ..
eventually?
Now F-Curve channels in channels region are drawn with the same colour as their respective curve is drawn in the curves area. I've had to make a compromise to store such colour info in F-Curves themselves, which is not terribly ideal if the F-Curve gets reused in some way. However, for now, this will do (special tweaks can be made to make this work better though).
I've also added a colour-determination mode per curve which should in future allow more control over this. By default, all curves still use the old 'rainbow' style. The available types area:
* Old Rainbow - Colour is determined 'automatically' using a magic method which uses curve position + total curves to generate a colour.
* Auto RGB - Color is determined using the 'array index' stored in F-Curve for data-access. An unresolved issue with this is that all the curves with this will end up with exactly the same colour, leading to confusion (i.e. all location.x and scale.x properties could potentially all be the same red colour).
* Custom colour - self explanatory
Currently, there's a minor bug when loading old files where the colours don't get initialised yet. For now, just clicking in the Graph Editor after file-load will solve any of these problems.
Ton: it looks like area->refresh() isn't getting called after file read.
View3D: snap menu (SHIFT+S) back.
All options are own operators, a (temp?) menu collects them all.
Note that the operators have a full name, for the menu it seems
too much; still I'd prefer a way to name operators in a way
it fits everywhere. That will make a unified translation system
possible for example.
Also: this code was needed to get 'center view' (numpad dot) in
editmode to work.
Last note; it uses old transform code to gather vertex info.
This is fully local to this C file, and quite simple to replace
in future with new transform.
* Insert/Delete keyframe buttons in the TimeLine work again. These now use two new operators which only insert keyframes for the active Keying Set.
* Renamed the old insert/delete keyframe operators. These now have the "*_old" postfix on their names. What happens with these temp operators is yet to be seen.
* Added insert/delete keyframe buttons beside the operator buttons for Keying Sets in the Outliner->Datablocks view
* Scene and World AnimDatas are now included in animation editors
* Keyframes for integer-value settings now get the FCURVE_INT_VALUES flag set for their F-Curves, which restricts those curves to only having integer-values. F-Curve displays have been altered accordingly, but some editing tools may still need tweaks to work with this.
* Fixed notifiers for Insert Keyframe -> Active Keying Set.
* The settings of KeyingSets can now be viewed/modified through RNA.
* Shuffled RNA wrapping for AnimData over to its own file
* Moved insert-key flags to DNA_anim_types.h, as they're now used for KeyingSets.
Smaller jobs, all in one commit!
- Moved object_do_update out of view3d drawing, into
the event system (currently after notifiers).
Depsgraph calls for setting update flags will have to
keep track of each Screen's needs, so a UI showing only
a Sequencer doesn't do objects.
- Added button in "Properties region" in 3D window to set
or disable 4-split, including the 3 options it has.
(lock, box, clip)
- Restored legacy code for UI, to make things work like
bone rename, autocomplete.
- Node editor now shows Curves widgets again
- Bugfix: composite job increased Viewer user id count
- Bugfix: Node editor, not "Enable nodes" still called
a Job, which didn't do anything
- Various code cleaning, unused vars and prototypes.
When fully implemented, these will be the clearest demonstration of 'Everything is Animateable', as they will allow users to define an arbitary group of settings through selecting items in the Datablocks (RNA-Viewer) View of the Outliner to define custom 'sets'. Such Keying Sets are known as the 'absolute' ones, which are created for a custom purpose.
Of course, 'builtin' Keying Sets will still be provided. Such built-in ones will not work on any particular paths, but will use context info to maintain the legacy method of inserting keyframes (via IKEY menu).
Currently, KeyingSets cannot be created/edited through the UI, though the backend code is in place to do this.

The file select operators have context issues still. They need
to get the image space in the context on exec() but it's not
there currently, not sure how to solve that yet.
Also added name parameter to uiMenuItemEnumO, and fixed "mute"
argument in ED_update_for_newframe calls in fluidsim bake.
*** Proof of concept! ****
3D window Panels back, in own designated region for now.
Activate or hide it with Nkey.
Note that Background Image doesn't work yet, Transform
Orientations probably need tests by Martin, Sculpt options
have to be recoded there by Nicholas.
The UI design sessions will of course review all of this!
We'll have to solve a lot of related topics;
- navigation (where) and context (what)
- non-overlapping layouts vs floating panels/bars
- properties vs tools (toolbars)
- drop panels and make nice (semi-automated) list views?
I've also done experiments with making the main 3d view
stay 'behind' the buttons region. That makes popping buttons
in and out less distracting, but also makes it obscuring
the view... it's not in this commit, it didn't work proper :)
To get that work it has to be handled by the internal
compositor, then it even can have fancy transparency in back.
Anyhoo, time enough to play with this a while. Especially for
Image window (paint) it can work well too.
still is mirror transform. This commits adds the remaining operators:
* UV mapping operators (U key menu): cube, sphere, cylinder, etc.
* Hide/Show operators.
And solves most XXX's, including:
* Fix bad includes and calls into space image.
* Aspect ratio correction.
* Create UVs if they don't exist yet on unwrap.
* Assign image to UVs.
* Drawing proportional edit circle.
When inserting keyframes on previous un-animated Objects/bones, F-Curves will be added into Action Groups into either "Object Transform" or <PoseChannel Name>. Ob->Material settings are not grouped for now to illustrate what's possible.
Old files are currently not patched to use do this, as it's still not clear whether this will be ideal.
Added CTRL+W save Blender file.
It's the first user of the uiPupMenuSaveOver() function,
which I've recoded to accept an operator pointer.
This is required because the operator property 'filename'
has to be set to work. Other 'save over' users will
require running operators too I guess.
Scene browse button now works.
Note that animsys currently executes animation for the entire
database, so multiple scenes in multiple windows don't work yet.
Various fixes:
- crash on invoking filewindow when mouse outside (active) window
- removed obsolete error prints (set screen error, copy data error)
- displist fix for loading files with curve/nurbs, the select-outline
then didnt draw immediately.
- outliner allows scene activating
way this worked in 2.4x wasn't really clean, with events going all over
the place and using dubious variables such as G.but->lockpoin or
G.sima->menunr. It works as follows now, for example:
xco= uiDefIDPoinButs(block, CTX_data_main(C), NULL, (ID**)&sima->image, ID_IM, &sima->pin, xco, yco,
sima_idpoin_handle, UI_ID_BROWSE|UI_ID_RENAME|UI_ID_ADD_NEW|UI_ID_OPEN|UI_ID_DELETE|UI_ID_ALONE|UI_ID_PIN);
The last two parameters are a callback function, and a list of events
or functionalities that are supported. The callback function will then
get the ID pointer + event to handle.
* Brought back recalculate bone roll (Ctrl N). This should be quite a straightforward example of a cleaned-up + ported armature tool.
* Cleaned up a few warnings
Render back! And not only back, even full threaded now. :)
Current state is unfinished, but too much fun to not to
commit for review and test!
WARNING: because render is in a threaded job, it will
use data as can be edited in the UI. That'll crash in many
cases of course... the idea is to limit UI usage to viewing
stuff, especially for the Image Window to inspect layers
or zoom in/out.
What works now;
- F12 render (no anim)
- ESC from render
- ESC pushes back temporary Image Window
- Render to ImageWindow or full-screen.
- Executing composites, and edit composites after render.
Note that the UI is 100% responsive in a render, you can
switch screens, slide area dividers around, or even load
a new file during render. :) It's quite stable even.
I'll collect all crash reports especially to get a good
picture of where the protection is required at least.
Also added: XKey "Delete Objects", to get things crash...
unfortunately it didn't for me.
* Changed uiPupMenuOperator usage to uiPupMenuBegin/End (simpler,
no need to build a string). Also made transform orientation and
subdiv type enums instead of ints for this.
* Added an icon argument to many of the uiMenu calls, and added a
uiMenuItemIntO.
* Move auto rna button creation out of outliner code, now is
uiDefAutoButR for individual buttons and uiDefAutoButsRNA for a
whole block.
* Implemented uiPupBlock(O). Pressing F6 gives a menu with the
properties of the last operator to test. I tried to make a redo
last operator out of this but couldn't get the context correct
for the operator to repeat in. Further the popup block also has
some issues getting closed while editing buttons.
* Fix uiAfterFunc memory leak on Ctrl+Q quit.
* Fix handling of RNA number button dragging and sliding for RNA
buttons with range -inf/inf.
Committed two posemode operators. Hide/Unhide.
For people who want to check on adding operators, only
check the changes in armature directory, rest is to
get things to work, and a small bugfix :)
Hrmf, I try to make a local operator-only commit possible, but I
keep finding other small todos :)
- added two more standard poll callbacks for pose and armature
- fixed operator naming in editmesh_mods.c
Big commit, but mainly adminstration.
- Enabled ot->flag OPTYPE_UNDO to work.
- Removed all redundant ED_undo_pushes, but I'd
recommend everyone to check it while testing. :)
- Added view manipulations as OPTYPE_REGISTER,
although this will flood the redo stack a bit...
Nevertheless; for a "redo last action" panel we
can simply check if both flags are set for redo.
- Bugfix in editmode undo: selectmode was cleared,
so you couldn't select after undo
- Bugfix in mixing tweaks and keymaps... solution
works but is weak, need to think over a while.
* Cleaned up UI_interface.h a bit, and added some comments to
organize things a bit and indicate what should be used when.
* uiMenu* functions can now be used to create menus for headers
too, this is done with a uiDefMenuBut, which takes a pointer
to a uiMenuCreateFunc, that will then call uiMenu* functions.
* Renamed uiMenuBegin/End to uiPupMenuBegin/End, as these are
specific to making popup menus. Will convert the other
conformation popup menu functions to use this too so we can
remove some code.
* Extended uiMenu functions, now there is is also:
BooleanO, FloatO, BooleanR, EnumR, LevelEnumR, Separator.
* Converted image window headers to use uiMenu functions, simplifies
menu code further here. Did not remove the uiDefMenu functions as
they are used in sequencer/view3d in some places now (will fix).
* Also tried to simplify and fix bounds computation a bit better
for popup menus. It tried to find out in advance what the size
of the menu was but this is difficult with keymap strings in
there, now uiPopupBoundsBlock can figure this out afterwards and
ensure the popup is within the window bounds. Will convert some
other functions to use this too.
* Drivers view in Graph Editor now displays drivers only, instead of displaying normal Animation data.
* 'Materials' channel is now only shown under an Object when there are Materials with animation data...
* Hid more debug prints behind debug flag. These should be removed...
I go to start commit the new code here and then replace one
by one bmfont and ftfont, this do nothing right now, but it's
more easy keep the files here to work from the studio and my home.
I only update the Makefile and SConscript (but JesterKing a double
check never is bad), so please check the msvc and cmake files.
The new library is libblenfont.a
* UV Editor Transform, translate, rotate, scale, live unwrap, snap, gesture,
etc work.
* Also for selection operators, used OPERATOR_FINISHED|OPERATOR_PASS_THROUGH
instead of just OPERATOR_PASS_THROUGH to make gestures work, seems more
correct to me.
* Copy/Paste still needs to be cleaned up to be functional. Auto-set preview range + View All also need some work to become functional...
* Smooth has been moved to Alt-O hotkey, as Shift-O was taken for Sample
* Renamed a few operators for DopeSheet to be more in line with Graph Editor ones, and to be less obscure.
* The 'join' and 'remove doubles' tools are not likely to be restored. I think that a few of the new tools cover this lack anyway. We can restore them if there is a real need.
* Record tool needs a rethink to be genuinely useful, so it's not included here anymore.
A note for anyone wanting to play with implementing this: store the sampled points using the new FPoint type in the FCurve instead of using BezTriples, as FPoints are used for storing sampled/baked data.
* Snap + Mirror Keyframes (Shift-S and Shift-M)
* Set Handle/Interpolation type
* Snap current frame to selected keyframes (Ctrl-Shift-S) from the DopeSheet
* Toggle visibility of all handles (Ctrl H) from AnimSys2 branch also ported
* ShapeKey conversions should now go to the correct places
* Added fix for drivers to prevent crashes when no driver object is provided (Franky from BBB seems to have one such driver for some reason).
* Temporarily disabled a check when evaluating drivers for whether the driver is tagged for evaluation. Drivers still need to be correctly tagged AND ordered by the Depsgraph to work correctly.
Compositor now uses threaded jobs.
- updates happen per preview node! Check this file for
fun: http://www.blender.org/bf/composite_image.blend
(any compo node could get preview!)
- had to ensure the composite data gets fully copied before
it executes thread, so editing is not frustrated.
- put back node buttons (missing init)
- added WM_jobs api call to check for running job,
illustrated with red light icon in 'use nodes' button.
- added another callback to WM_jobs, to initialize.
use this init to ensure you only do it when job really
starts.
- added an extra notifier option for WM_jobs, to signal
finished job (like redraw image view)
- fixed file read error, it copied the screen it read,
instead of using it.
- commented out annoying prints for missing ops in imagewin
* Cleaned up code for borderselect with BKEY. There's still a bug here where y-values don't seem to be getting properly checked, so nothing seems to happen.
* Set up some code for transforming keyframes. It currently uses the wrong code though (i.e. it uses the code for Action Editor which is 1D not 2D, and doesn't have some of the special checks needed). More work on this later.
This commit brings back the drawing code for the 'Graph Editor'. I've decided to call it this, as currently it can show either F-Curves for Animation stored in Actions, or F-Curves for Drivers.
Currently, it shows all curves, since some of the necessary filtering code (i.e. for limiting curve visibility) hasn't been put in place yet. At least this serves as good proof that we can have F-Curves from multiple sources at least.
It should be noted that the code still has to be modified to work with some of the new Animato features, such as F-Curve Modifiers (cycles are an example of one of the features that use this). Also, a nicer way to set the colours of the curves needs to be investigated.
Notes:
* Fixed a few bugs in RNA User-Preferences wrapping
* The keyframe drawing uses the new-style drawing for handles from AnimSys2. There's a minor bug that sometimes occurs, where a distorted handle gets drawn at the origin of the grid on the first run. Hints anyone?
* Removed most of the old data from SpaceIpo struct, as the new code uses that. Maybe later, the directories/files at least should get renamed.
* Removed ancient hack for NVidia/TNT drivers. It is probably no longer needed, but could be restored if someone needs it.
