Wrong indices were being used to reference materials, resulting in too few materials showing up. It seems that at some point since coding this in the 2.4 codebase and now, the range has changed from [0, totcol) to [1, totcol].
Between the datablock filtering options and the auto-snapping menu in the headers of Animation Editors, there is a new toggle for enabling this new feature (only when there are groups in the scene). Enabling this, a field to enter/select a group in the scene to filter with, will appear beside it.
This feature has been added to make it easier to manage animating multiple character shots in Durian.
By assigning the rigs of several bandits to a single group, or Sintel and her staff to another group, or Sintel and the guardians to another group, and so on, it is possible to filter the animation data shown in the editors to a useful subset of the total motion in the scene.
This makes it easier to retime or edit the motions of one set of characters and their props without affecting the motions of other no-related objects. The downside is that there is a bit more setup work required upfront, but that's probably a small price to pay for some groupings that may be useful in other ways too later (perhaps for compositing or lighting work).
Action Groups can now be expanded/collapsed in DopeSheet editors without the same thing happening in the Graph Editor, and visa versa.
This should help improve the workflow, since the channel lists are generally kept more compact in the DopeSheet, while they are more expanded in the Graph Editor, so less time is spent expanding/collapsing stuff. Also this should hopefully alleviate some of the errors from accidentally deleting and then having to restore channels that were not intended to be deleted.
Also, switched the order of the expand/collapse hotkeys (in the channels list region) for channels so that Ctrl +/- now expands/collapses selected channels only, while +/- expands/collapses all channels. This should make it more convenient to quickly open up all groups to select F-Curves for the Graph Editor.
* Selected keyframes in unselected F-Curves were still being modified, although not shown
* Selection tools for keyframes were changing the selection status of F-Curves, making keyframes sometimes disappear after trying to select another keyframe
* Warning fixes in a few other files
out of this was an intentional change or not, but working with two objects
became quite tedious because action would have to be changed manually each
time. Also fixed missing redraw of header.
- In 2.4x, this setting was the lock button in the headers.
- Now, this option can be found in the View menus of all relevant editors
- Basically, this option toggles whether objects (using animation data that's being edited) get updated during animation editor transforms to give realtime feedback on the effects of tweaks.
- By default, this is enabled, since this fits in nicer with 2.5's everything 'live' paradigm. However, it is recommended to disable this on slower computers or when updates for heavy rigs are causing too much workflow lag
- Also, removed some old crufty settings from action editor data
Made preview range be turned on/off using a proper flag instead of just relying on checking for start-frame = 0. It is no longer satisfactory to do that since we can have negative frame numbers, and also having it as a proper flag means that the range can be toggled on/off non-destructively.
Hopefully this time I've finally found the proper fix for this. At least in the mini test-suite I made for this, the new inverse process seemed stable enough.
---
Also, tweaked the keyframe drawing code so that it doesn't convert the handles too when performing NLA mapping. This should provide some minor speed boosts when drawing keyframes under these conditions...
this is too arbitrary and could break if roperty order is changed.
store the property in the operator type that is to be used for menu and enum search func's.
python function for searching operator enums on invoke. (just need dynamic python enums now)
wm.invoke_search_popup(self)
The reverted code was just blindly restoring the old state of the keyframes; changes to selection state, value changes, handle type, etc. were overridden, and the cases where keyframes were deliberately retimed or otherwise were also ignored.
I'm not sure what problems these changes were meant to be solving, but will reassess the situation when I get more info on this.
and other operations the nla mapping would be applied to the curves, but not
restored correctly. The unmap function was not the inverse of the map function,
and it's not clear to me it's even possible to make it so due to repeat, so
now the old coordinates are backed up in a list and then restored afterwards.
Protect and Mute toggles now flush their values when changed, like for visibility, making the workflow a bit smoother. Currently, this only takes effect when clicking on the toggles (i.e. the hotkey+select based toggle setting operators don't take this into account yet).
A solid color backdrop is now drawn behind the mute/protect toggles and sliders, reducing the visual clutter with long names still appearing behind the UI widgets.
Highlights:
* Support for Multi-Target Variables
This was the main reason for this recode. Previously, variables could only be used to give some RNA property used as an input source to the driver a name. However, this meant that effects such as Rotational Difference couldn't be used in conjunction with other effects and/or settings to achieve the powerful results. Now, a variable can take several input targets, perform some interesting operations on them, and spit out a representative value based on that.
* New Variable Types
With the introduction of multi-target variables, there are now 3 types of variable that can be used: single property (i.e. the only type previously), Rotational Difference (angle between two bones), and Distance (distance between two objects or bones).
* New Driver Types
In addition to the existing 'Average', 'Sum', and 'Expression' types, there is now the additional options of 'Minimum' and 'Maximum'. These take the smallest/largest value that one of the variables evaluates to.
* Fix for Driver F-Curve colouring bug
Newly added drivers did not get automatically coloured in the Graph Editor properly. Was caused by inappropriate notifiers being used.
Notes:
* This commit breaks existing 2.5 files with drivers (in other words, they are lost forever).
* Rigify has been corrected to work with the new system. The PyAPI for accessing targets used for the variables could still be made nicer (using subclassing to directly access?), but that is left for later.
* Version patching for 2.49 files still needs to be put back in place.
* Mesh data/settings can now be animated. It is not recommended that geometry be animated directly, but other settings such as autosmooth, etc. can be...
* Code cleanups for depsgraph, making sure that drivers get included for all object data types.
* NURBS and Font animation data now appear in the animation editors.
* Fixed depsgraph tagging code for determining if the AnimData attached to object data blocks (i.e. animation for curve or lamp data) needs to be tagged for updates on frame changes. This means that animating curve settings now works.
* Moved 'change shortcut' (previously directly RMB on menu items) to a context-menu item, and added Remove Shortcut and Add Shortcut. This is all available now in a RMB context menu for operator buttons and menu entries.
* Renamed a bunch of key maps to be consistent with UI names, and human-readable. Since these key map names are now being directly used in the UI for people to find things, they should be understandable and in plain language.
This renaming may break some older saved key map setups - though previously saved .b25.blends should convert over ok. Exported .py files may need some find/replacing - in this commit check the changes in resources.c to see what's changed.
* Added function for F-Curves to find the F-Curves in a given list which affect some named data, such as bones, nodes, or sequence strips.
* Added a BezTriple offsetting callback to be used with the F-Curve+Keyframe loopers in use for many of the keyframe editing tools.
This commit brings back the functionality whereby the selection of F-Curves and/or relevant Group(s) is synced with the selection status of the corresponding bones when the bones are selected/deselected.
- appending scenes would not append the sound and scene ID's for sequence strips
- reload button in sequence header now reloads sounds as well.
- redrawing the sequence image view didnt work while plaing (unless play was activated from that region)
- generic functions for running a callback on sequence strips recursively. seqbase_recursive_apply() and seq_recursive_apply()
- bind marker with camera was set to home key, use Ctrl+B instead.
Finished wrapping Action Groups in RNA to help debug some bugs showing up in the Animation Editors for some files from the Durian team. Access is strictly read-only for these added settings, given the trouble already caused by these problems.
Added a new operator for properties which resets RNA-based settings to their 'default' values, as defined in RNA. This currently only works for floats, ints, enums, and booleans (strings and pointers still need to be implemented).
The current extensions to the RNA API that I've made here seem a bit excessive, and can be toned down if necessary. In short, I've just added accessor functions for the default-values of the property definitions.
For this to be really useful, many properties in RNA will need to get defaults defined, since the current defaults for quite a few properties tested were less than ideal.
Currently access by selecting a marking and binding with the active camera from the view menu.
Note:
after long discussion we decieded there is no nice way to do this.. animate pointers? animate multiple camera visibility?, use sequencer? use NLA?.... have a kind of event system (like framechange scriptlinks)... etc
so this is ifdef'd with DURIAN_CAMERA_SWITCH
* Added a User-Pref option for the "XYZ to RGB" colour-mode setting for new F-Curves to compliment the one used for Keying Sets. With this option enabled, the builtin Keying Sets also can obey this option.
* Made all places that were previously manually checking the flags for keyframing to use a standard API function to do this now.
* Fixed bug introduced earlier today in commit 25353 by reverting the changes to keyingsets.c. Forgot that delete_keyframe doesn't handle do the "entire array" hack with array_index = -1
* Fixed bug with the insert-keyframe code for the array_index = -1 case, where too many channels were being keyed (i.e. an imaginary channel was often keyed in addition to the valid ones)
Autokeying for transform functions now gets context-info, allowing for bone paths to be recalculated.
However, the main purpose of this is to allow KeyingSets to eventually have poll functions.
* Made the TimeLine current frame indicator get drawn using the standard frame-indicator code. Also, it is now possible to show the frame indicator box beside the line as in the other animation editors, although this is disabled in the timeline due to the closeness of the frame number field.
* Removed some old (unnecessary) code
-> "Continue Physics" option in TimeLine, which is now obsolete with the current physics options. Feel free to restore if this is not the case.
-> Already commented out hacks to create "speed ipo" for curves. There are easy alternatives that are better integrated.
-> Unused init/exit callbacks for scrubbing time, since those were only used to set an obsolete flag for timeline drawing that is now used for the indicator.
* Switched long-keyframe optimisation code to use constants instead of some magic numbers + fancy trickery...
Added option to KeyingSets+Keyframing Functions which makes newly added F-Curves for Transforms + Colours to use the colour mode which uses the array index to determine the colour of the F-Curve.
The main implication of this is that when this option is enabled for a KeyingSet, all sets of XYZ F-Curves (i.e. location, rotation, scale) for transforms will be shown in Red/Green/Blue instead of some automatically determined "rainbow" colour. Useful for animators far too used to Maya's Graph Editor :P
This setting is named, "XYZ to RGB", though that doesn't make its purpose entirely clear.
* Added ANIM_list_elem_update and ANIM_id_update functions to call when
changing animation curves, which will then call the RNA property update
functions for those curves.
This is to replace just calling DAG_id_flush_update, that may not always
be the right thing to do, and doesn't send proper notifiers for redraw.
Still only used/usable when transforming in the graph editor, not sure
how this do this with NLA for example, .. needs to be improved.
* Added function wm_data_handle_update function to contain the object
update function, and also added scene animation update there. Actually
it should be doing all datablocks, this makes it work for sequencer.
Joshua, do you agree this is the right direction to go in? I can revert or
change the code if you think it should be done differently. Mainly wanted
to get this working well for sequencer now.
This commit fixes#19908 and #20239. Deleting keyframes will now delete the F-Curves they came from too, if the F-Curves don't have any more keyframes and/or F-Modifiers providing any further motion info.
Improved the hotkeys for toggling the visibility of channels in the keys area for the Graph Editor.
* VKEY - this is now used for making only the selected channels visible, hiding everything else
* Shift-VKEY - the old toggling behaviour
In addition to this, I've made these toggling operators flush the visibility flags up/down the hierarchy, just like clicking on the channels manually do. There are still a few minor oddities to iron out, but it should be better than before.
Also, fixed a bug with these toggling operators introduced during my earlier commit to make filtering work ok. It's always tricky getting these layers of checks just right, so hopefully nothing breaks now again...
2. Add action parameter to Select_All_Toggle operators, rename to Select_All.
Options are Toggle (default), Select, Deselect, Invert (same as select swap). This makes it possible to map separate hotkeys for select all and deselect all.
NOTE for Aligorith: I didn't change animation operators for select_all which already had an Invert operator. These should be fixed eventually.
* Bugfix #20136: unclear tool tip for inherit rotation toggle
* Bugfix for Apply Pose as Restpose (Ctrl A in Pose Mode): missing call to free edit-data was causing drawing code to only draw editbones until editmode was entered + toggled
* Added missing notifier for deleting F-Modifiers, so deleting F-Modifiers now updates the view correctly afterwards
