95df65f1b5 - some parts of the code to remove rotation were not removing axis/angle rotation (only functional change of this commit).
- use BLI_math functions for removing rotations from objects and pose channels.
- add unit_axis_angle() to avoid setting the Y axis inline anywhere rotation needs removing.

552b36733b bugfix + minor mathutils.Vector edits.
- multiplying a 2D vector by a 3x3 or 4x4 matrix would use un-initialized memory, now throw an exception.
- use more variable length array BLI_math functions.

c26cc0afa1 bugfix [#25290] Align on text gives a traceback
[#25284] Traceback error on "System Info" script

- Align was only working on mesh objects, now operate on all objects, missing boundbox's are treated as single points.
- obj.bound_box was returning all nan's for object types with no boundbox.
- ENUM_FLAG type enums were showing no text when displayed in operator redo panel.

448d24e7a0 New math util funcitons:
- equals_v2v2
- project_v2_v2v2
- isect_seg_seg_v2_point
which would be necessery for my further multires interpolation commit

M_Geometry_LineIntersect2D now uses isect_seg_seg_v2_point(). Behaviour of this
function was changed a bit -- it haven't returned intersection point in several
cases when two segments are making angle.

95d8cfc25d bugfix [#24907] bone roll z up broken and python script showing correct method to roll bones
from Josh Wedlake (joshwedlake), who provided a reference script used to apply changes in ED_rollBoneToVector().

- Obvious bug fixed where Z-Up didnt work right.
- More align axis options to Recalculate Roll operator: X/Y/Z/View Axis & Negate.
- Axis Only option, ignore the axis direction, use shortest rotation to align bones.


ED_rollBoneToVector() changes:
- would give bad roll when the axis wasn't normalized or perpendicular to the bone.
  some callers accounted for this but not all.
- option to align to the axis but not the direction.

ee7bf4dab5 take delta's into account when applying the objects matrix (dloc, drot, dsize).
Now object_apply_mat4() can be used as the reverse of object_to_mat4().

Noticeable result is fly mode and 'Apply Visual Transform' dont jump when deltas are used, also means setting matrix from python works as expected.

a044486d7d [#24267] Hook fails after Solidify
Solidify modifier wasn't assigning origindex values.

- BLI_math.h array functions: range_vni(), mul_vn_fl(), mul_vn_vn_fl(), add_vn_vn(), fill_vni().
- define 'AT' as __FILE__ ":" STRINGIFY(__LINE__), useful for quick debug prints.

81d5e4f8df bugfix [#22819] Grease Pencil: OpenGL render incorrect if view mode, OK with cursor mode
also made drawing in camera view stick to the camera border (belated durian request),
useful for animation review without worrying about screensize moving the overlay about.

da060dad99 bugfix [#21754] Smooth view + repeeted view orbit results in slow orbiting.
- original quat was not assigned yet so never gave a good result.
- quat angle comparison as vector is wrong.

008863daec Merge image related changes from the render branch. This includes the image
tile cache code in imbuf, but it is not hooked up to the render engine.


Imbuf module: some small refactoring and removing a lot of unused or old code
(about 6.5k lines).

* Added a ImFileType struct with callbacks to make adding an file format type,
  or making changes to the API easier.
* Move imbuf init/exit code into IMB_init()/IMB_exit() functions.
* Increased mipmap levels from 10 to 20, you run into this limit already with
  a 2k image.
* Removed hamx, amiga, anim5 format support.
* Removed colormap saving, only simple colormap code now for reading tga.
* Removed gen_dynlibtiff.py, editing this is almost as much work as just
  editing the code directly.
* Functions removed that were only used for sequencer plugin API:
  IMB_anim_nextpic, IMB_clever_double, IMB_antialias, IMB_gamwarp,
  IMB_scalefieldImBuf, IMB_scalefastfieldImBuf, IMB_onethird, IMB_halflace,
  IMB_dit0, IMB_dit2, IMB_cspace
* Write metadata info into OpenEXR images. Can be viewed with the command
  line utility 'exrheader'

9a85013692 Merge various small changes from render branch:
* Division by zero fix for TNT SVD code.
* Sound fix, in case ffmpeg decode fails, don't use the samples.
* Fix for incorrect bounds of transformed objects in new raytracing code.
* Gave memory arena's a name used for allocations for easier memory
  usage debugging.
* Dupligroup no_draw option was using layers but not restrict view/render
  setting. (not a bugfix exactly but would do display list context switching
  while drawing for no reason).
* Fix objects instanced on hair particles not giving consistent results
  when the object is transformed.
* New math functions: madd_v4_v4fl, len_squared_v3v3, interp_v4_v4v4v4,
  mul_v4_m4v4, SH and form factor functions, box_minmax_bounds_m4.
* mul_m4_m4m4 and mul_m3_m3m3 now accept the same pointers for multiple
  arguments.
* endjob callback for WM jobs system.
* Geometry node uv/color layer now has search list/autocomplete.
* Various small buildsystem tweaks, not strictly needed yet in trunk.

- use render mesh settings rather then view settings.
- fixed bug with brush size being overwritten and allowing non mesh objects to be projected onto.
- made the paint loop less messy & minor cleanup

  work for more than one file
* reflect_v3_v3v3 requires input vectors to be normalized now.
* added rgb_to_grayscale
* added zero_v4, copy_v4_v4, swap_v4_v4, is_one_v3
* added box_clip_bounds_m4 to clip a bounding box against a
  projection matrix

e77fadf066 fix for painting bug added since 25391 (own fault)
Making shell_angle_to_dist use radians was needed for solidify but somehow broke paint. Need to look into further but for now this fixes it.

5cd837a562 * speedup for animating bones, in one scene with sintel and a dragon animated its over 4x faster.
* utility function BLI_findstring to avoid listbase lookup loops everywhere.
  eg: 
    ListBase *lb= objects= &CTX_data_main(C)->object;
    Object *ob= BLI_findstring(lb, name, offsetof(ID, name) + 2);

* made some more math functions use const's, (fix warnings I made in previous commits)

fde4686d77 barycentric transform utility geometry function.
From 2 triangles and 1 point, the relative position between the point and the first triangle is applied to the second triangle to find the target point.
the barycentric weights are calculated in 2D space with a signed area so values outside the triangle bounds are supported.

wrapped by python:
 pt_to = Geometry.BarycentricTransform(pt_from, t1a, t1b, t1c, t2a, t1b, t1c)

NOTE: 
- moved some barycentric weight functions out of projection painting into the math lib.
- ended up making some of the math functions use const args.
TODO:
- support exceptional cases. zero area tries and similar.

bd1f548d8e fix for [#19655] Curve is a disaster
when changing curve twist I assumed 2D curves would not need dir or quat values set, however these are used when getting a path from a curve.
also added interp_v3_v3v3v3v3

385875632d Math Lib
* Fix remaining issues before conversion.
* Inline various vector functions, currently enabled for all platforms.
  I expect this to work in GCC/MSVC at least, if other platforms don't
  support it, #ifdef's can be added.
