Operating system: Ubuntu 23.04, Ubuntu 22.10, Ubuntu 22.04
Graphics card: NVIDIA Quadro K620, Intel(R) UHD Graphic 630 (CFL GT2), Intel HD Graphics 520, Intel HD Graphics 615, Intel UHD Graphics 620

Blender Version
Broken: Latest Stable 3.5.1, Stable 3.4.1, Lts Stable 3.3.8, Stable 3.2.2, Stable 3.1.2
Worked: Stable 3.0.1 (I have not tested other inferior versions)

Short description of error
Blender freezes completely when working with the "Scale" tool in Ubuntu. It also froze with the "Transform" tool, in Ubuntu.
Currently I use Ubuntu 23.04, with latest updates, but it happened with previous versions.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  1. Start Blender
  2. Delete all stage elements (cube, lights) (Also freezes with the cube and other elements)
  3. Add > Mesh > Plane
  4. Select Scale Tool
  5. Just pass the mouse over the plane, between the upper and lower circle (with the function to increase and decrease the plane) repeatedly and after some time the blender freezes.

Notes:

  • In Blender version 3.1.2 it took a little longer to freeze.
  • Try the versions with Deb, Snap and Flatpak.
  • The problem is the same using Wayland or X11

Please click on Help > Save System Info and upload saved file. I suspect, that integrated GPU is being used for drawing which is known as problematic. I am bit confused by list of GPUs in report description - multiple integrated gpus are listed of multiple generations. Can you explain that?

I apologize. I should have explained about the list of graphics cards:
Intel(R) UHD Graphic 630 (CFL GT2) - It is the onboard graphics card of one msi motherboard. So, to check the problem with Blender, on the same motherboard, on pcie I mounted the NVIDIA Quadro K620 and reinstall Blender.
The remaining boards are from different laptops with Ubuntu 23.04.

As I suspected, in GPU section your integrated GPU is listed as used for drawing. I suggest to configuring system, such that dedicated one is used. I don't see exact same issue open, closest seems to be #98932, but that one seems to be windows related.

Try to update mesa library, it may improve this problem.

I understand that on my Desktop PC this is happening, since it is necessary to define a default graphic, but I don't understand why this happens on my laptops, where it is simply necessary to install blender, without having to do any extra configuration, since there is just a graphics unit.

I can't provide comprehensive answer, as there are various open issues with various intel GPUs on various platforms

I think best is to see if these work and what issues you do have.

Ehh nope, this works fine here. Both UHD620 and K5100M works just fine.

Not sure what it have to do with the "passing the inside the circle", would there be a div by zero thing happening?
