Short description of error
Fails to launch
Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Using regular build scripts with a clean system run 'make', following clean build, built executable fails to load when launched.
Possibly related to #106905
Hi, using the latest build fails to launch too?
https://builder.blender.org/download/daily/
yes, same behaviour on daily build, tried
22206a1592
just now.Caveat: I'm running on a very old 2013 iMac with OpenCore Legacy Patcher to get the latest version of MacOS (13.4.1.c) to run, seems to work perfectly in all functionality and blender builds have all worked with no issues right up to
ac708cb33a
Most likely because they ended OpenGL support on Mac: #110185
Same happens on my machine, 4.0 closes on launch.
Last version that works is 4.0.0 Main

from 2023-07-14MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013)
2,3 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7

NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M 2 GB / Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB
macOS Big Sur 11.7.9 (20G1426)
Hi, don't think this would be consider as a bug if system itself is not supported anymore for Metal backend :/
@Michael-Parkin-White-Apple , can you check?
@PratikPB2123 Yeah, this is expected to no longer work as 4.0.0 will deprecate OpenGL support on macOS due to a bump in the minimum required GL version. For most platforms, Metal is supported so this will replace GL across the board, but older Nvidia-based platforms will be unsupported.
Thanks, will close in that case.
