Restriction Toggles Reset in Outliner when changes made to Add Object properties drop down. #116244

System Information
Operating system: Linux/Windows 10
Graphics card: Quadro P1000

Blender Version
Broken: 4.1, 4.03, 3.6.6, 3.3.12
Worked: can't say it ever did

Short description of error
After adding an object, if you change Restriction Toggles, they will Reset in the Outliner when any changes are made to Add Object properties drop down.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  1. Start Blender, and add any object (Mesh, Curve, Surface, Metaball, Text, Volume, Grease Pencil).
  2. In the Outliner change the restriction toggles for any pre-existing object/s listed, other than the one added.
  3. Change any property of the newly added object in the Add Object drop down.
  4. Notice that the restriction toggles that you changed in Step 2, revert back to their default state.

To me this is a bug, because, for example, let's say that while changing the properties of the newly added object, you would like to hide some pre-existing object/s that is/are obstructing the newly added object in the Viewport. However, as soon as you make some change to any properties of the new object, those obstructing objects become visible again. And you have to hide them again to make the next change.
The "expected" behavior would be for the Outliner restriction toggles to remain in the state that you change them to, regardless of which properties you change in the Add Object properties drop down that comes up when adding a new object.

Thanks.

Thanks for the references. Looks like, every few months someone discovers this and realizes how it would be useful to them, and voila you have another report. At least, my wording was unique. :)

For me, I guess the workaround for this behavior is to deal with restriction toggles in the Outliner panel before adding a new object.

Hi, this is expected behavior because "add operation" is below the "outliner property toggle" in undo-stack: image

Changing value from redo panel will jump to the state before add operation (i.e. reverts outliner property toggle and add uv sphere operation) then redoes the "add uv sphere" operation with newer information (i.e. new segment, ring count, etc.)

Yes, this is indeed same as #78171, Thanks @TheRedWaxPolice :)
