This should have gone into 3.5 for any Linux distributions that are building against ffmpeg 6. It can be cherry-picked into blender-v3.5-release instead.

@brecht but this doesn't really qualify as a bug fix per se?
I didn't merge this into the release branch on purpose because I thought it is too late to include fixes for library versions we don't don't officially support.

It's not too late, we generally include these kinds of fixes in the release branch.

Since FFMPEG 6.0 was released before Blender 3.5, Linux distributions are likely to run into this problem.
