This will be interesting to follow.
I was curious and tested it on a Surface Pro but for some reason the zoom in the node editor doesn't work very well. Sometimes it just zooms out until the nodes disappear and it's impossible to get them back even with "Frame All" (which I think could be related to the frame all zoom animation not working when the zoom is too small). :)

Yep, this is only "correctly" implemented for View 2D views (not 2D views in general), and even then it's making no attempt to handle little details such as swapping left/right or top/down touch points. 🙃

I only recommend using this to sate curiosity until it's been cleaned up; definitely don't open any project you're not willing to loose with this.
