Do you think I should add an "Indices" button in the UV editor to toggle them , or use the existing one in the 3D Viewport's toolbar ?
Right now I'm using the "UV select mode" buttons in the UV editor to display each type of vertices

Each editor should have its own toggle buttons to enable/disable the indices. Similar to the 3d viewport.

Okay.
Also ... This may not be in the scope of the issue but :
On the UV , the only thing that is displayed are the faces of the mesh, afaik . So , no single vertex , no single edge.
What behavior do we want when selecting a singular vertex or edge ?
For ex :

But if I select the edge n° 10 on the 3D viewport :

We have choices maybe :

  1. don't display indices if the face isn't displayed entirely
  2. actually draw the single vertices highlighted as points , and single edges as dashed lines for ex ?
  3. maybe draw the faces the single vert and edges belong to , also as dashed , or highlighted lines .
    Or maybe we just want something quick and dirty ?
