Oh that's neat. I guess this is most useful for users who aren't yet familiar with the wealth of settings, but even I tend to get lost in there, on the infrequent occasion I need to tweak something. I suppose it disregards items from the theme/keymap/addon sections? since the information density in there is quite high and they have their own search filter already.

Not yet. Having search here is on our list of "wants", but there are quite a few gotchas and corner cases to it. Nice to have something to stare at while thinking about it.
