@qsandrew In the debug log you have provided, I see, that Blender quit normally (it was closed by user). Do you think it crashed? if not can you upload log of actual crash?

AFAIK It is expected behavior, that scene setting that "hosts" sequencer are used for rendering of scene strips. So in this case preview seems to be incorrect. But will have to refresh my memory…

I think whole comment is redundant, variable changed
is in general used to decide whether operator has been finished or cancelled and therefore generates undo step.
Will keep open for now, the property update should be handled by RNA update function, but it doesn't work for some reason.
