Change OURPLATFORM from "linux<major_version>" to simple "linux".
Since new policy for linux kernel versions that major version in
platform doesn't make much sense for building rules so the same
rules could be used for both of linux2 and linux3 now/
Tested on both of linux2 and linux3 systems.
intended as a standalone library for use in other applications that
want the same tangent space as Blender.
This also keeps blenkernel clean(er) from extra math functions.
faces. Only happens with scons/msvc and SSE enabled for raytracing. Why this
happens exactly I don't know, I've tried to look for errors in the code but
couldn't find any, the perlin noise code somehow is generating NaN values,
but it is getting sane inputs. I suspect this is due to the render module
being compiled with /arch:SSE and other parts not. For now I've made only
the render_raytrace module compile with SSE, which seems to solve the problem,
but is mostly a workaround.
This adds BF_RAYOPTIMIZATION_SSE_FLAGS through which one can manage
what SSE flags are best for the platform built for.
Note that the ray optimizations coded by jaguarandi are SSE-intrinsics only.
Until now only SSE switches were defined, but to really enjoy the SIMD structures, the
__SSE__ define needs to be given. This can now be done with setting in your user-config.py
WITH_BF_RAYOPTIMIZATION=True
(or WITH_BF_RAYOPTIMIZATION=1 on command-line)
* Replaced ... = {}; with ... = {0};
* Solved problem with logf(), where msvc couldn't figure out which version of log() to call (solved by casting the int argument to a float, but could also have been to double)...
* The cflags and cxxflags for scons when compiling the rendering module were only valid for gcc compiles. These will still need to get added for msvc sometime, but for now, there are no more warnings about unknown options...
Since bli_threads.h now includes pthreads directly, we need to had instructions in SConscripts everywhere for proper include path.
Frankly, I feel like this should be done in a global manner and not in a per lib fashion, but that is for another day.
This commit also fixes more missing properties
This adds a RenderEngine type to RNA, which can be subclassed
in python (c++ will follow once we support subclassing there).
It's very basic, but plugs into the pipeline nicely. Two example
scripts:

Issues:
* Render runs in a separate thread, and there is unrestricted
access, so it's possible to crash blender with unsafe access.
* Save buffers and full sample are not supported yet.

C++ used in here is basicly C with templates and function overloads,
to make it easier to reuse code between structures.
For now BVH was converted in C++ and moved to this module
Cleanup commit:
- Yafray removed. Also did cmake/scons files, but didn't compile with it,
so test would be appreciated :)
- Removed old crap from Windows release dir, should be checked on
further by windows release builder later.

* GHOST/X11 had conflicting changes. Some code was added in 2.5, which was
later added in trunk also, but reverted partially, specifically revision
16683. I have left out this reversion in the 2.5 branch since I think it is
needed there.

* Scons had various conflicting changes, I decided to go with trunk version
for everything except priorities and some library renaming.
* In creator.c, there were various fixes and fixes for fixes related to the -w
-W and -p options. In 2.5 -w and -W is not coded yet, and -p is done
differently. Since this is changed so much, and I don't think those fixes
would be needed in 2.5, I've left them out.
* Also in creator.c: there was code for a python bugfix where the screen was not
initialized when running with -P. The code that initializes the screen there
I had to disable, that can't work in 2.5 anymore but left it commented as a
reminder.
Further I had to disable some new function calls. using src/ and python/, as
was done already in this branch, disabled function calls:
* bpath.c: error reporting
* BME_conversions.c: editmesh conversion functions.
* SHD_dynamic: disabled almost completely, there is no python/.
* KX_PythonInit.cpp and Ketsji/ build files: Mathutils is not there, disabled.
* text.c: clipboard copy call.
* object.c: OB_SUPPORT_MATERIAL.
* DerivedMesh.c and subsurf_ccg, stipple_quarttone.
Still to be done:
* Go over files and functions that were moved to a different location but could
still use changes that were done in trunk.
* tweak other SConscripts for editors/include
* commented BKE_bad_level_calls.h in writeframeserver.c - please check it doesn't break make builds
This compiles until final linking, which still fails.
* Add WITH_BF_YAFRAY, which per default is 'true', so no visible changes for developers (and users).
Set WITH_BF_YAFRAY to 'false', and you'll save some major compile time :) Also handy if you're strapped for memory and compilation fails on yafray compilation due
to this.

- made BF_NO_ELBEEM a proper BoolOption. This will be renamed to WITH_BF_ELBEEM in the near future...

Cygwin, FreeBSD and Solaris systems still need work. For these systems:
1) copy a config/(platform)-config.py to ie. config/cygwin-config.py
2) set the proper defaults for your platform
3) mail me at jesterking at letwory dot net with you configuration. if
you need any modifications to the system, do send a patch, too.
I'll be giving first-aid today and tomorrow, after that it'll be all
regular development work :)

- Moved to new Panel in Scene buttons "Post Effects". Together with other
postprocessing options, such as Edge render. It is also not called DoF,
this because that's a bit pretending too much then. It's a zblur still!
- Made it render Alpha as well
- Made it use and deliver float buffers
- Huge cleanup of zblur.c code, was very messy. It was alling things in render
code without need even (win matrices, transform faces, etc)
- Fixed errors in using Z values (zbuffer is signed int)
- Removed very weird gamma corrections for front/back half
- Tweaked gaussian table, allow variable 'Sigma' to be set for gauss curve
- Didn't copy 'auto focus' yet. Use of this is very limited, and gives
false expectations, nor works for rendering anims with deamons well.
Main issue remains: it's not a very advanced feature... I still doubt
very much if this deserves to be released. Spent 2 days on trying to get
the key issues solved, with not much results.
- gauss filter code has weird side effects on large blur size
- having unsharp (blurred) in front also blurs what's around in back.
only blurred in back with sharp in front works a little bit
- severe aliasing errors... also due the code splitting in 2 halves
- doesnt work with unified yet
- won't work for halos, spot halos or transparant faces
Anyhoo... It was promised to be committed, so now artists can play with it.
Who knows it's useful after all, or some fixes can be implemented. :)
Render:
- New; support for dual CPU render (SDL thread)
Currently only works with alternating scanlines, but gives excellent
performance. For both normal render as unified implemented.
Note the "mutex" locks on z-transp buffer render and imbuf loads.
- This has been made possible by major cleanups in render code, especially
getting rid of globals (example Tin Tr Tg Tb Ta for textures) or struct
OSA or using Materials or Texture data to write to.
- Made normal render fully 4x32 floats too, and removed all old optimizes
with chars or shorts.
- Made normal render and unified render use same code for sky and halo
render, giving equal (and better) results for halo render. Old render
now also uses PostProcess options (brightness, mul, gamma)
- Added option ("FBuf") in F10 Output Panel, this keeps a 4x32 bits buffer
after render. Using PostProcess menu you will note an immediate re-
display of image too (32 bits RGBA)
- Added "Hue" and "Saturation" sliders to PostProcess options
- Render module is still not having a "nice" API, but amount of dependencies
went down a lot. Next todo: remove abusive "previewrender" code.
The last main global in Render (struct Render) now can be re-used for fully
controlling a render, to allow multiple "instances" of render to open.
- Renderwindow now displays a smal bar on top with the stats, and keeps the
stats after render too. Including "spare" page support.
Not only easier visible that way, but also to remove the awkward code that
was drawing stats in the Info header (extreme slow on some ATIs too)
- Cleaned up blendef.h and BKE_utildefines.h, these two had overlapping
defines.
- I might have forgotten stuff... and will write a nice doc on the architecture!
* Blender static now links. By default this option is disabled on all
platforms. Simply set the option in config.opts to 'true'.
* Added the following flags to config.opts:
- HOST_CC. This is the C compiler for the host platform. This value is the
same as TARGET_CC when not cross compiling.
- HOST_CXX. This is the C++ compiler for the host platform. This value is
the same as TARGET_CXX when not cross compiling.
- TARGET_CC. This is the C compiler for the target platform.
- TARGET_CXX. This is the C++ compiler for the target platform.
- TARGET_AR. This is the linker command for linking libraries.
- PATH This is the standard search path
All SConscript files have been updated to reflect these changes. Now it's
possible to change only the root SConstruct file, and all compiler specific
variables are passed automatically to all SConscript files. Of course, this
does not apply to makesdna because there the host and target platform is
different from all other libraries.
To pass a variable that applies to all platforms, all we now have to do is
set the correct value in library_env
Note: as usual, to get the latest options in the config.opts file, first
remove your version.
* libraries are now generated in [BUILD_DIR]/lib
* passed the user_options to all libraries now.
This means I could remove a couple of Export/Import lines.
* Changed the order in source/blender/src/SConscript and
source/gameengine/SConscript.
All libraries are now sorted alphabetically. This has no impact on the build
process.
