Short description of error
Messed up renders in multiple of the common Blender Demo files. Classroom being the most obvious.
Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Starting blender and running the render with the HIP or HIPRT backend using the 7900 XTX GPU causes the render errors in the attached "broken" images. Running and finishing a HIPRT render targeting the CPU results in a proper render, and fixes this for subsequent GPU renders with both HIP and HIPRT, see "non-broken" images.
@Jeroen-Bakker hi, I see you've multiple hardwares. Can you replicate this?
@BrianSavery Are you aware of (can you reproduce) this issue? Seems like the recommended Driver is used.
Yeah that is weird right because the "HIP - CPU" render is just using the CPU kernels, not using HIP at all really. Not sure why rendering that way and then redoing with HIP would work.
We'll investigate though.
Hi @Philipp-Munkes Do you have an APU or an iGPU in the system by any chance?
Hi @Sayak-Biswas, yes, the iGPU in my Ryzen R7 7700X was enabled in the system. But I didn't set it as active it in any of these runs, and it didn't run a render when I tried to use it.
Okay yes, we are aware of this issue. We have a fix in place in the driver, awaiting release. We will update when its available.
