Blender Version
Broken: version: 3.6.1, branch: blender-v3.6-release, commit date: 2023-07-17 12:50, hash:
8bda729ef4dc
Worked: (newest version of Blender that worked as expected)
Short description of error
[Whenever I start Rendering, It crashes when using cycles on GPU compute. Doesn't happen on CPU option.]
Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
[On render engine, select cycles. Then set it to GPU Compute. Then click on render on top left corner. Then select render image.]
Hi there, could you check the steps here and provide us the crash log and system info txt files?
This is likely one of the HIP related bugs. Will add to the list.
@ChengduLittleA I put in the crash, system, and debug files.
Thanks @BlakeGalaxy . While the developers looking into it, you could try downgrading/upgrading your graphics driver to a different version and see if the problem still persists. Thanks!
Hi, are you rendering with ray-tracing acceleration (HIPRT)?
Looks same as #109417
Any update with this? I have a similar error in #110841 and it has made Blender completely unusable with my graphics card.
@BlakeGalaxy does this issue still happen with the latest 3.6 LTS or 4.0, and latest AMD graphics drivers. There have been fixed in both, that hopefully addressed this.
My case got mentioned, #112427 Still having this problem with LTS 3.4.6 and AMD 23.9.3.
No activity for more than a week. As per the tracker policy we assume the issue is gone and can be closed.
Thanks again for the report. If the problem persists please open a new report with the required information.
