Delete Branch "wave/blender_wave_Apple:emissiveColor"
Deleting a branch is permanent. Although the deleted branch may continue to exist for a short time before it actually gets removed, it CANNOT be undone in most cases. Continue?
Added support for emissiveColor in UsdPreviewSurface export, mapping the PrincipledShader's Emission input to it.
See #107903.
fixed task #107903 - added support for outputting emissiveColor in UsdPreviewSurface, mapped from Blender's Emissionto Support outputting emissiveColor in UsdPreviewSurface, mapped from Blender's EmissionHi, small changed the title/description a bit to match the guide: https://wiki.blender.org/wiki/Style_Guide/Commit_Messages
Support outputting emissiveColor in UsdPreviewSurface, mapped from Blender's Emissionto USD: Support outputting emissiveColor in UsdPreviewSurface, mapped from Blender's EmissionThese changes looks good and can be merged, in my opinion.
This is actually a duplicate of #104490 by @expenses. The changes in #104490 are in effect identical to those in the current PR. The contribution to the discussion in #104490 should be acknowledged in the commit message, but it probably makes sense to merge the current PR, as it's up to date with the latest code in
main
.One question that came up in #104490 is whether to multiply emission by emission strength:
#104490 (comment)
In my opinion, the changes in the current PR should be merged and the question about emission strength should be handled in a separate commit, as I believe this might require further discussion. E.g., how to preserve emission strength in round trips Blender -> USD -> Blender, perhaps with custom user properties. Also, whether to encode emission strength in the
UsdUVTexture
shaderscale
input.@brecht @expenses please let me know if you disagree.
Seems reasonable to commit it like this as a first step.
