Yes, it's not really related to the new Alembic import feature but I noticed it while testing it yesterday.
I also didn't mean the transfer but only the import / export of velocity (or even arbitrary attributes) on points.
This is a very long standing issue and I guess @kevindietrich already invested a lot of work in this. Maybe it would be best to contact him about this.
For me (Linux) EEVEE Next doesn't crash any more but on the first switch to rendered mode, it took several seconds (while EEVEE Legacy started rendering instantly). After a short break shading…
Same crash here on Linux. Same error message.
I was about to post the same issue with latest version(s) of main. Both Windows and Linux are crashing for me as soon as I try to render or preview.
OK, I've compiled this exact build and it gives me smooth shading with Cycles. What about Hydra Storm on your side?
For me even Cycles doesnt have Shade Smooth
Wow! What build number / OS are you using? For me it's happening with Linux and today's Buildbot build and my own compile with current main.

But adding keys in the Graph Editor is still being very weird now, as all of what I wrote above is still true there. No matter what Keying Set I select, the 3 first options in the dialogue…
Oh, did not notice the post you edited, reopening (Also: I haven't checked the "graph editor" part yet)
Thanks a lot. I guess the whole topic of keying etc. is under heavy construction right now.
OMG, sorry. Didn't know this was a new feature. Sorry for the noise.
